Problem & Context
Assignment: Raise awareness about textile overconsumption and make sustainable fashion mainstream.
Target Group: Generation Z (ages 15-30) in the big cities of the Netherlands who are open to learn and adapt their consuming habits towards more sustainable living and a cleaner environment. The goal is to implement the product also in other European countries in the future.
Problem Statement: Young people's lack of accountability, supported by the influence of social media and their financial capabilities, results in a lack of demand for sustainable fashion and responsible consumption.
Design Goal: The goal of this project is to make sustainable fashion more mainstream by educating the user and encouraging a creation of a network of people and stores that can contribute to a more sustainable environment. The product will attract the younger generation and show them other valuable options regarding living sustainably, and bring them in contact with lesser known companies. The ideal vision of this project is to make sustainable fashion as attractive as fast fashion. To reach 100% sustainability by 2050 and make the fashion industry a circular system that produces no waste. We want to motivate people to be mindful about their consumption habits and shift fast fashion to the second plan.
